J & J Carter were approach to design and install a Tensile Membrane Canopy at Brunswick Shopping Centre, located in the heart of Bloomsbury.
Brunswick Shopping Centre offers an exciting retail and leisure experience, encompassing an eclectic mix of fashion, entertainment and dining offerings. Anchored by the largest Waitrose in Central London and a state-of-the-art Curzon art-house cinema, Brunswick also has a strong catering offer including Carluccio’s, Leon, GBK, Nando’s and Las Iguanas.
Brunswick Shopping Centre attracts just under 8 million visitors per annum (approx. 153,500 per week) and shoppers are from 4 key groups, local residents, workers, students and tourists.
J & J Carter were able to quickly remove the fabric and frame, which was then transported to our workshop for a full survey where we manufactured and fitted an upgraded membrane. The new membrane was fitted to the frame before being transported back to Brunswick Square Gardens, ensuring minimal disruption with fast and efficient installation.
The membrane was made from a PTFE Coated Glass Fibre fabric membrane. A non-combustible to Class O, the highest regulation in the U.K PTFE membranes have a typical life span of 30 years. Some of the oldest structures include Denver Airport, built in 1993.
Our fabric canopies and shade sail structures aren't just for the leisure industry. Indeed, we have also completed many projects throughout the hospitality and education sectors. Whether you want to change its size, shape or colour, we have the expertise to customise fabric canopies to suit your needs. Discover more about the tensile fabric canopies available at J & J Carter.
