Port Solent is renowned for its waterside dining, boutique shopping and family entertainment.
As the South Coast’s premier leisure time destination, the client, Fuller, Smith & Turner was looking to elevate their premium location pub experience, to ensure their visitors could enjoy drinking and dining while overlooking the stunning marina throughout the year.
Commissioned by Lindy Austin Partnership, we collaborated to design the iconic canopy, which has been standing proudly in place since 1999, prominently featured above The Sir Alec Rose public house in recent photographs.
The striking appearance of this canopy is created from a twin cone, supported by two large masts and reinforced with stainless steel cables to maintain its structural integrity.
With an impressive span of 12.6m and a projection of 5.3m projection, this canopy continues to shelter thousands of visitors annually as they enjoy views of the glistening marina.
Our expertise in fabric canopies and shade sail structures extends beyond the leisure industry, with successful projects in the hospitality and education sectors. Whether you require adjustments in size, shape or colour, we have the capability to customise fabric canopies to suit your needs.
