Sands Resort, Scarborough
J & J Carter were requested to be responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of canopies to the rooftop terrace of The Sands development.
As the canopies need to integrate with the building scheme, it was important to work with the builders and fit into construction schedules. The environmental conditions of the location also needed to be taken into consideration.
Two canopies were integrated into the perimeter balustrade structure to cover an area on the 5th-floor roof terrace. The canopies were designed visually to complement the existing buildings and reflect its seaside setting.
