Scotstoun Stadium
As the leading fabric architectural company, J & J Carter were commissioned to supply a cover for the 1,432 square metre North Stand of the Scotstoun Stadium Athletics and Rugby Ground.
As the stand can accommodate approximately 1,200 spectators, the cover needed to be both adequate in size and performance, as well as meet the aesthetic standard consistent with a state-of-the-art sporting facility. The specification for the structure also included the efficient management of rainwater.
J & J Carter designed, manufactured and installed a multi-bay conic style stadium structure that enhances the ground aesthetically and meets all performance requirements. The roof structure is cantilevered off columns located to the rear of the stand with a Type IV PVDF Lacquered PVC Coated Polyester tensile membrane cover. The rainwater is managed via a diverter on the top side of the membrane which follows specially designed contours that ensure accurate rainwater run off to specific downpipes.
