Wellsprings Leisure Centre
J & J Carter were responsible for the design and build of a tensile fabric sail canopy at the Wellsprings Centre in Taunton, Somerset.
The sails are located 3.5 metres above the ground and cover a total of 6.53 meters (65 sq ft). The fabric is a woven glass fibre with PVC coating, which conforms to BS 476 for fire retardency. Due to a complex interior fixing arrangement, an accurate 3D survey and model was done to ensure total alignment of the canopy with proposed fixings in the blockwork and first floor structure.
