MUTA's Members' Day 2022
J & J Carter are excited to be a headline sponsor at the much-anticipated MUTA’s Members’ Day event on the 5th of April at the Jurys Inn Hinckley, Leicestershire. With only a few weeks left to go, we wanted to share with you what’s in store and the importance of being a MUTA member.
About MUTA and What it Means to be a Member
MUTA (Made Up Textiles Association Limited) has been around for over 100 years supporting the temporary structure industry. The original eight founding members of MUTA all worked in either the import of textiles or product manufacturing. They were involved in everything from recycling and manufacturing of jute bags, making tarpaulins, loincloths, and waterproof goods.
Today, MUTA is actively involved in helping keep the temporary structure industry together and offering one voice to the Government departments and standard making bodies. MUTA is the UK’s first and only trade association dedicated to marquees, tents, and temporary structures.
J & J Carter have been a member of MUTA since April 1990. For us, MUTA helps to continually raise the industry standards whilst providing advice in multiple areas of the business with guidance notes, reference documents, and a member’s service helpline.

What to expect at MUTA’s Members’ Day
The Members’ Day is a perfect opportunity to learn more about the temporary structure industry and network with like-minded companies ahead of the new season. Not only will creating fellowship amongst members further strengthen your company’s voice, but also opportunities to partner may arise in the future.
The day will include multiple informative presentations and updates on the latest news across the industry, with a dedicated session on the association’s structure, strategy, and objectives for 2022 and how MUTA will develop and continue to offer support to employees and business.
