The 5th emergency service at Christmas
This Winter, it has been no secret that flooding across the UK has caused huge disruption and loss to lots of families and businesses.
In this crisis, Aquabex who distribute Eco-dam and Rapidam, called J & J Carter on the 28th December following a call from the Environmental Agency requesting urgent flood defence in Yorkshire.
Although the J & J Carter offices were shut from the 24th December for the Christmas break,we responded quickly out of hours in order to deliver our flood defence solution to those in need.
The lorry arrived rapidly, and our dedicated team loaded all of the Eco-dam and Rapidam we had in stock, ready to make its journey to the floods in Yorkshire.
What is Eco-Dam?
Eco-dam is a water-filled flood barrier, fabricated from High Tensile European produced PVC
and manufactured using Computer Controlled High Frequency Welding Techniques. This ensures structural strength as well as both water proof and gas tight seams.
The Rapidam is a single-component membrane that uses the flood water to provide friction and sealing pressure with the ground.
