Farnborough International Film Studios
Farnborough International Film Studios commissioned Losberger De Boer UK Ltd to oversee the refurbishment of a large workshop space measuring 2,000 square meters. The structure, which is 20 meters by 100 meters, is designed to accommodate up to four separate workshop areas. The upgrade aims to enhance both its functionality and appearance.
Key Challenges
The scale of the structure posed significant challenges, especially in sourcing and installing large components designed for the building’s unique dimensions. High durability and structural integrity were crucial to ensure long-term usability for the film studio’s requirements.
Our Contribution
J & J Carter was contracted by Losberger De Boer UK Ltd to undertake a comprehensive refurbishment project involving the installation of new roofing and cladding for an industrial workshop. As part of this project, we supplied and meticulously installed 20 new roof sheets, each measuring 20 meters in length and 5 meters in width, ensuring a robust and weather-resistant covering for the building.
In addition to the roofing work, we constructed new gables to effectively secure the building’s perimeter, enhancing both its structural integrity and security.
To further improve the workshop's exterior and functionality, the team manufactured and installed 320 square meters of high-quality 40mm composite cladding. This not only provides an appealing aesthetic but also offers excellent insulation and protection against the elements.
Finally, the project installed four double-door sets, which facilitate easier access while contributing to the overall efficiency of the workspace. The attention to detail and quality workmanship have significantly enhanced the workshop’s capabilities and appearance.
